Randel’s mother loves hummingbird and butterfly motifs. For her 80th birthday he made this special card incorporating both.
His paper art designs have been used as illustrations in his popular book series , and also in magazines and on posters!

A recent low-relief paper sculpture I made for my wife for Valentine’s Day.
It lasts longer than flowers and is healthier than candy!

Is on display in the Hanford (CA) Veterinary Hospital.

A friend asked me if I would do some glass engraving for him to put in his home. Here is what I made for him:

Puppet Design! (Of Course!)
Zipp the Teddy Bear was designed by cartoonist and entertainer Joe Wos for a TV program pilot that he was working on.
When Zipp lost one of his button eyes, it was replaced by what was available… a zipper! Hence the name.
This movable mouth hand puppet also has eyebrows that raise and lower with a simple finger pull in the head.
Zipp, the Teddy Bear! Cute but with somewhat of an attitude! Designed by Joe Wos and made by Randel McGee.
The following puppets were designed by Randel and then made by Randel and teen volunteers for summer productions in 2012 at the Elizabeth Stewart Treehouse Children’s Museum in Ogden, UT.
The Treehouse Children’s Museum invited Randel Back in 2014 for another residency and this time they produced 2 beautiful shows mixing live actors with shadow puppetry.
Issunboshi’s adoptive parents give him a rice bowl and chop sticks to use as a boat and paddle.
Backstage one can see the shadow “masks” the actors use to play characters in the shadow play.
